"Heh, someone who has to keep up with Becky for once, teh” mused David, hiding his smirk under his hand.
“David, I would like you to meet someone” smiled Crow.
Looking at the little lad, David felt an odd connection to him. The boy hid behind Crow, gripping her dress nervously whilst trying to hide underneath it.
“This little three year old boy is Gabriel” she revealed, pulling her dress away from him and placing her hand lovingly onto his golden curls. Gabriel peeped with one big blue eye from behind Crow’s leg up to David “And he’s your son”.
His eyes widened with joy in an overwhelming rush of emotion. “H-he’s my-” he stuttered, choked up.
Nodding, Crow turned to Gabriel stroking his head “Gabriel, this is your daddy”.
Teary eyed, David stared at the boy before him. Edgily, Gabriel silently studied his father, seeing his emotions bloom. His bright eyes widened, seeing himself in this man before him.
A short, anxious stillness froze time as the pair stared at each other.
“Daddy!” shouted Gabriel, running towards David suddenly.
Quickly kneeling down, the new father opened his arms, tearfully embracing his son. Crow wiped a tear from her eye, watching on proudly, sniffling at the most perfect sight she had ever seen.
Lifting his son into the air, David held little Gabriel close, cuddling him. Reciprocating, Gabriel squeezed tighter back. Wanting to see his daddy up close, Gabriel leant back touching his father’s nose, feeling his cheeks and lips, staring into his eyes.
Watching on, David smiled, also admiring how beautiful his son was, but something was abnormal about him. His boy had heterochromia; one azure blue eye and one ruby red.
